Battery Chemistry Types×
LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate): Longest lifespan (3000-6000 cycles), safest, no maintenance, lightweight. Best for solar + daily cycling. Higher upfront cost but lowest cost per cycle.
Lead Acid AGM / Gel: Lowest upfront cost. 500-800 cycles. Requires regular maintenance (flooded) or sealed (AGM/Gel). Heavier and shorter lifespan. Best for occasional backup use only.
Lithium-ion (NMC): Higher energy density than LiFePO4, more compact. 1000-2000 cycles. Common in laptops and EVs. Good for space-constrained installations.
Solar Panel Wattage Options×
All Wattages: Shows solar panels of all wattages. Choose this if you want to compare all available options before deciding.
250W: Older generation, smaller footprint. Need more panels for same output. Budget option.
330W: Common residential size. Good balance of cost and space efficiency.
400W: Modern residential panels. High efficiency, fewer panels needed. Recommended default.
450W+: Bifacial or large-format commercial panels. Best for large roofs or commercial installs.
Inverter Types Explained×
All Types: Shows all inverter types. Choose this if you want to compare all available options before deciding.
Hybrid Inverter: Works with solar panels, batteries, and grid power. Can charge batteries from solar, export excess to grid, and provide backup during outages. Best for maximizing solar usage and reducing electricity bills.
Non-Hybrid Inverter: Works with batteries and grid only (no solar input). Charges batteries from grid when power is available and supplies from batteries during outages. More affordable upfront but no solar capability.
Off-Grid Inverter: Designed for locations without grid power. Runs entirely on solar panels and batteries. Requires sufficient panel and battery capacity for 24/7 operation.
